Legislation on Body Modification does not currently exist but is in the process of being implemented. The only requirement that currently exists is with regards to Waste Disposal and Registration under local by-laws as Waste Generators. Also, The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 imposes Regulations only to the extent placed under Section 9 of the Act. Under the Children’s Act 2005 Act 38 it is stated that the protection of a minor (under 18 years of age) is the responsibility of a parent(s) or legal guardian(s). Therefore, Vesper & Quill Studio will reserve the right to decline a request to tattoo any minor (under the age of 18), regardless of consent given by parent(s) and or guardian(s).
By agreeing to get tattooed at Vesper & Quill and completing the documentation in studio prior to getting tattooed, you thereby consent Vesper & Quill Studio to process your personal information where necessary and only for the purposes of conducting checks and verifications leading to the tattoo procedure. Vesper & Quill Studio agrees that the Personal Information will not, under any circumstances, be processed for purposes prohibited by POPIA and/or the principles contained in POPIA and that the processing of Personal Information will be done fairly and in accordance with legal provisions, given that the purpose for which processing of the Personal Information is adequate, relevant, and not excessive.
